Fragments of Syria

I spent many years in Syria from 2005 to 2011. Even back then, I had the idea of painting what I experienced. After the war began and my two children were born, I decided to truly start this project—initially as something small and personal, a way to bring Syria a little closer to my children. In this way, I created many one- to two-page paintings that capture different experiences of everyday life.
